
NHS Warns of Norovirus Surge Amid Winter Strain

On March 16, NHS England reported a 50 % rise in norovirus cases compared to the previous week, adding pressure to hospitals already under winter strain Professor Sir Stephen Powis noted that bed occupancy increased by nearly 5,000 compared to last year. Despite the rise, NHS leaders urged the public to keep seeking care via 111 online and emergency services when needed, while winter recovery efforts continue apace.
