Journalist of the Year Award Presented to Hulya Ozkoyuncu at the 24th European Quality Summit in London

Diaspora, Diplomacy and Academia United at London’s Prestigious Summit

The 24th European Quality Summit and award programme, held at Naval and Military Club, brought together prominent figures from politics, academia, media, business and the Turkish diaspora. Organised by Lobin International, the summit honoured distinguished individuals for their international contributions and professional achievements.

International Vision and Diaspora Emphasis

During the opening remarks, organisers highlighted that Lobin International has been building international cultural and economic bridges across 33 countries for more than four decades. The summit was described not only as an award platform, but also as a strategic meeting point strengthening diplomacy, academia, trade and diaspora relations.

Following the opening session, several distinguished speakers addressed the audience and shared their perspectives on international cooperation and public diplomacy.

High-Level Participation from Diplomacy, Academia and Business

The summit attracted an influential guest list including the 5th President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar, Southwark Mayor Sunil Chopra, Turkish Business Forum President Dr. Murat Dağıtmaç, British Turkish Association (BTA) President Murat Çukru Acar, Yaprak Restauran  CEO Müslüm Acar, Nural Ezel, Azim Kose, Emir Ozeren, former Conservative council member Şazimet İmre Palta, and German businessman Hans Henning Reinecke.

Participants exchanged views on strengthening diaspora networks, enhancing international collaboration and expanding public diplomacy initiatives.

Speech That Captured the Audience’s Attention

Following the keynote sessions, Hulya Ozkoyuncu took the stage and quickly became one of the summit’s most talked-about speakers. Her remarks received strong attention from the audience and were met with frequent applause throughout the programme.

“The Diaspora Has Become a Producer of Knowledge”

In her speech, Ozkoyuncu emphasised that today’s diaspora is no longer only a representative community, but also an active producer of information, media and public influence.

Representing London Olay Newspaper, Ozkoyuncu stated that she has spent many years working in both visual and print media, producing cultural and political news for the Turkish public, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus community and audiences following developments in the United Kingdom.

Highlighting the importance of public diplomacy, she noted that her journalistic work, documentaries and analytical reporting aim to build bridges between communities.

“Through our London-based media work, we closely follow the UK agenda while striving to make the voice of the Turkish community more visible,” she said.

Journalist of the Year Award

One of the most significant moments of the summit was the presentation of the “Journalist of the Year” award to Hülya Özkoyuncu in recognition of her contributions to diaspora media and international public diplomacy.

The award was presented by the 5th President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar, marking one of the summit’s most memorable moments.

Emphasis on Solidarity and Networking

Participants underlined the importance of bringing communities together within London’s fast-paced environment, stressing that such summits strengthen both professional and social ties.
