ISTANBUL – Türkiye’s branding, communications, design, and creative industries will come together on June 12 around a shared vision for strengthening the country’s global brand identity. The Türkiye Brand Platform, which works to enhance Türkiye’s brand value and reinforce a culture of branding, is preparing to formally announce an initiative to declare June 12 as “Türkiye Brand Day.”
The initiative will be unveiled for the first time at the 1st Türkiye Brand Journey Conference, to be held on June 12, 2026, at the historic Paket Postanesi in Galataport, Istanbul.
Inspired by a century-old journey
The idea of Türkiye Brand Day draws inspiration from the historic Karadeniz Steamship voyage of 1926, launched during the early years of the Republic to introduce Türkiye to the world. Recognized as a pioneering international promotion effort of its time, the journey is approaching its 100th anniversary and serves as a symbolic foundation for a renewed focus on Türkiye’s branding story.
The initiative aims to establish June 12 as an annual awareness day highlighting the importance of branding, while showcasing Türkiye’s production capacity, creativity, cultural heritage, and global competitiveness.
Türkiye’s brand ecosystem gathers under one roof
The 1st Türkiye Brand Journey Conference will bring together key institutions and stakeholders shaping Türkiye’s brand ecosystem under a common vision.
Organized under the Türkiye Brand Platform, the conference’s partners include the Brand Council, the Public Relations Association of Türkiye (TÜHİD), Corporate Communications Association (KİD), Economic Journalists Association (EGD), Industrial Designers’ Professional Organization (ETMK), Film and Visual Effects Producers Association (FilmYap), Communication Consultancy Companies Association (İDA), Marketing Communication Professionals Association (PİD), Creative Industries Council (YEKON), and the Outdoor and Industrial Advertisers Association (ARED).
Past, present, and future of Türkiye’s brand identity
The conference will open with a keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Haluk Gürgen and will bring together leading figures from Türkiye’s most established brands, communications professionals, and academics.
As part of the program, institutions such as Kurukahveci Mehmet Efendi, Ali Muhiddin Hacı Bekir, and Türkiye İş Bankası are expected to share historical perspectives on their participation in the 1926 Karadeniz voyage. Sessions organized with contributions from the Presidency of Communications’ Türkiye Brand Office and sector NGOs will address the evolution of Türkiye’s brand identity, key milestones in its branding journey, and future strategic vision.
One of the key announcements of the conference will be the public introduction of the initiative to designate June 12 as “Türkiye Brand Day,” which organizers describe as the beginning of a long-term national awareness movement aimed at strengthening Türkiye’s global brand position.
