Katy Perry raises eyebrows with ‘awkward’ lyric

Katy Perry has raised some eyebrows among her fans as she belted out a hit song during her performance at King Charles’ Coronation Concert However, some fans were confused when they realised a lyric in her song Firework had an “awkward” historical meaning that could be perceived as offensive to King Charles and the history of the monarchy.

In the song, Katy sings the line: “You just gotta ignite the light / And let it shine / Just own the night / Like the Fourth of July.”

The King’s Coronation concert at Windsor Castle on Sunday evening featured some incredible performers from iconic artists including Katy Perry, Nicole Scherzinger and Take That Bookmark A star-studded night of entertainment celebrating the King’s coronation began with Charles being thanked for making the event possible – by “weeding” his back garden at Windsor Castle.
Nicole Scherzinger, on the other hand, fascinated those who came to the concert with his stage performance costume and voice.
