Winter lights 2024: “Canary Wharf Light Festival” fascinated attendants
Winter Lights, London’s largest free light festival, has banished the January blues with stunning installations in 2024.
Winter Lights has returned to Canary Wharf for its eighth year, transforming the business district into a massive outdoor art show. The festival of lights featured spectacular temporary installations by some of the world’s most innovative light artists. This year, the Canary Wharf Winter Lights Festival “shined a light on the intersection and juxtaposition of nature and technology: allowing for moments of stimulation and pause, moments of beauty and technicality.”
The eighth edition featured 13 temporary installations as well as 6 ever-popular permanent works of art. Attendees watched as Westferry Circus was lit up by flickering flames. Enjoyed a giant marble run at Wren Landing, explored geometric monoliths at Crossrail Place Roof Garden, re-experienced Squidsoup’s Shipwreck in Montgomery Square, and a spectacular laser projection was featured in Union Square.
