Hafız Mustafa 1864, one of the leading global representatives of Turkish confectionery culture, has been awarded the “Legacy Honour – Cultural Heritage Pride” award at the Family Business UK event held in the British Parliament.

The award, which recognises family-owned businesses contributing to the UK economy and cultural life, was presented to Emre Ongurlar by Matt Vickers, Vice Chairman of the Conservative Party, during a ceremony held at Thames Pavilion in London.

The event brought together members of Parliament from different political parties, members of the House of Lords, and prominent figures from the British business community.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Hafız Mustafa 1864, Emre Ongurlar, highlighted the company’s long-term investment strategy in the UK and its vision for international growth. He noted that the opening of the brand’s London branch in Knightsbridge marked a significant milestone in Hafız Mustafa 1864’s global expansion journey.

“We opened our London branch in Knightsbridge two years ago following five years of preparation, factory investment, and the creation of more than 100 jobs,” Ongurlar said. “We are delighted by the growing appreciation and support shown by the British public towards Turkish desserts and our products.”

Ongurlar also stated that Hafız Mustafa 1864 currently operates 25 branches worldwide and explained that, despite offers and opportunities in cities such as Paris, New York, Barcelona, and Vienna, the company chose London for its next international expansion after Dubai.

According to Ongurlar, the decision was influenced both by the longstanding friendship between Türkiye and the United Kingdom and by London’s status as one of the world’s leading gastronomic capitals.

“Just as the friendship between Türkiye and the United Kingdom continues to grow, we hope Hafız Mustafa 1864’s presence in the UK will continue to expand as well,” he said. “We believe the desserts we offer will create sweet memories and cultural connections between both societies.”

In a statement, the company described the award as an important milestone not only for strengthening the brand’s international presence but also for preserving and promoting the heritage of traditional Turkish dessert culture on a global scale.
